that looks like a 12v to me, soooo, go to radio shack and find a 12v transformer (like a cell phone charger) and bring that stuff with you so u can get the right amperage too
theres prolly only 2 wires coming from that, so tie em together one way, plug it in and see which way the fan spins, if its right crimp em together (or solder if your real cool) with them inline connectors
EDIT: well dont tie em together, lol, i mean tie it to the transformer one way, and try it. Lmao, its late

just wire it to any dc transformer up to 12V If you wired wrong it will spin backwards, so it's not risky

You can just do the AC adapter if it matches or is less than the voltage on the fan.
Just strip the black and red back, then one goes into each wire on the AC adapter. Electrical tape, blam. You're set.
-------------------- Of course it's happening inside your head. Why should that mean it isn't real?

i have similar pc fans on my setup, if you run both on the same adapter the one you have now will run slower and the other won't be at it's full potential either. I went with separate adapters.

I got ya buddy!
I made this for my grow as well for cooling my CFL's and cooling my plant....
Here's the parts, labeled according...
So bascially you need a
1) AC-to-DC Adpater 12 volt (at least), with about 1 amp (1,000 mA) or more....(more amps means more speed) - with a standard 2-prong insert FEMALE plug.
2) a 6" MALE 2-prong plug (from RadioShack(4)
3) soldier equipment: soldiering gun, soldier, some electrical tape/ duct tape, and a pair of scissors (for stripping wires).
4) some extra time.
And thats it. Also, some soldiering skills. PM if ya need help.

TrueHerb, thats a nice setup but the only problem for me is that there are too many additional parts that need to be hooked up. i was originally looking into getting the ac-dc adapter but was just too much $$ for my budget at the moment...including having to mod the fan to possess the connection for the dc adapter.
instead i took an olddd razor cell phone charger, stripped the wires on both the fan and charger and connected the black and red from the fan to the black and red to the phone charger. works perfectly! if i needed the fan to spin the opposite direction, i just cross switch the wires.

Oh, you already figured it out....cool.
Be careful with those hard-wired ones. One time I burnt out a Ac-to-Dc adapter that way and it started smoking.....could have just been the adapter. Just make sure you keep the hard-wired adapter from anything flammable, and you should be fine...
Good luck with your grow! ~ TrueHerbCrystal ~
