When Should I Start Using My Nutes
    #226951 -

Here are the products I am using during veg:

I am wondering when I should use them. Should it be from the get go, or should I wait until my plants have some height...or something else. I started to use them at really diluted levels, and then was going to slowly bump up to about 1000 ppm; but decided I had better ask before I mess anything up.

Don't add fertilizer until they're atleast 2 weeks old.  Aren't those hydroponic nutrients?

Yeah, but the guy at the hydro store said that he switched from hydroponics to soil grows and continues to use this exact regiment of nutrients. So, I hope everything will be cool.

I've been doing a bit of research lately and have found that you can use hydroponic ferts on soil, but you can't use soil ferts in hydro systems. This is because the salts are dissolved in hydroponic ferts and the plants can suck them right up as is; however, soil ferts contain salts that aren't dissolved and they must be broken down in order for the plants to absorb them (which the bacteria in the soil does.)

I'm not a pro my any means. This is just what I've read online...

I find it is best to start fertilizing at 1/4-1/2 strength at the begining growth of the fourth node. Don't go by time. Try to go by the nodes. Usually the fourth set of new growth is usually when you should start fertilizing.

not to mention that if there are certain things which don't dissolve, those solids can clog tubing, nozzles, etc.

As for ferts, i think the fourth node suggestion is a good one.  If you're growing in good soil they'll have enough nutes to last them for a good while.  You can start feeding them earlier if you want, but keep doses light and work up slowly so you don't overdo it.
