So long story short a main cola snapped off on one of my plants. So I was thinking of doing a BHO run with it. But I'm not sure if oil will be contaminated with the fertilizer via the trichromes?

The fertilizer is water soluble, and the THC is nearly insoluble.
You should be able to run the Butane pull, then redissolve the finished product in a polar solvent like hexane and do an aqueous wash (add water to the hexane solution, shake lightly, allow time for hexane and water to separate, drain off and discard water, repeat 3 or 4 times). Then evaporate the solvent off for purified BHO.
Chances are that pure butane won't even pull nutrients from the plant cells, but the method above will ensure that most anything you don't want in your BHO will be removed.

Good idea data. Loose some terps but likely nothing would loose with heat purge. Hmm guess could run bho.right into water aswell let settle out.. hard to say if would be light precipitate tgats hard to seperate out.
That being said i doubt will be that much of a better product to warrant all the effort. But can do an expiriment if u want. Some guys dont even flush nugs!!
The easier way would be just put the stem in water for a couple days. Will use up all the sugars so wont be harsh! Which is really purpose of flush and curing. Think pine branch fresh off tree snap craxkle pop spark dry cured wood doesnt snap craxkle pop and has less smoke obv temp has to do with that aswell... just a theory
