 Some questions about buying seeds online

I've grown plants a handful of times but have only ever used bagseed. I'm in the planning stages of a new closet setup and would like to get the seeds online this time so I will know what I'm smoking, how to better care for the plants, etc. Which leads me to my questions:
How risky is ordering seeds to the US? Is it legal to order them to CO? (I'm not in CO, unfortunately)
How are most payments usually done on these sites?
How do seed websites get away with openly selling seeds to US customers?
Do they just send you an envelope with seeds in it or what?
Any information, advice, or testimonials would be appreciated. I just want to know what I'm getting myself into haha.

Used a couple diffrent company's over the years. Attitude seed bank is the best but there credit card processor has been down for a while so they only except cad orders at the moment. Right now my favorite is herbies for the sime fact they have a pick and mix section where you can just buy one seed of most anything they carry they also have a great feminized section. It is illegal to have seeds ship to any state in the U.S. but I have made over fifty orders over the years and only one was picked up by customs.

1. As long as you're ordering a reasonable number, there's nothing to worry about. If customs finds the seeds, they toss them & sometimes send you a letter telling you they've confiscated your seeds. Some people get a green-taped package with everything inside but the seeds. Make sure you order with "guaranteed delivery" so that if your seeds do get seized, the company you order from will resend.
2. Technically, credit cards like Visa & MasterCard will not work with seed companies - it's specifically stated in their TOS that some things like cannabis seeds are prohibited. Companies use fronts & other tricks to use cards, but they always eventually get caught. Other methods include cash, bitcoins, moneygram, western union, bank transfers, etc.
3. It is illegal for any one to import seeds of any type into the US from what I understand. However, companies take the risk of shipping seeds in because more get through than get taken so they can still make a profit. They get away with it because their not located in the US and are out of the US's jurisdiction.
4. Most seeds are sent inside a plain padded mailer. Inside the mailer, you'll either get your seeds in the original breeder packs like they sell in European seed shops (you can see plenty of examples if you search this site or the web) or you might get them in zip lock baggies in an attempt to get them through customs a little easier. Either way, your seeds should be separated & marked so that you know what they are - unless you ordered a random mix pack.

Hey guys. I used buydutchseeds.com for my online purchasing and everything was perfect. The service was ok, the delivery was pretty fast and the seeds were pretty good so overall I would recommend them. Let me know if anyone else tried them also...

Hello ppl I decided to get me some seeds and for that I used buydutchseeds. I ordered them like 2 days ago. I m still skeptical but my customer services with them was very good. They answered all my questions and I'm hoping everything will be as they said. I see some good feedback here. Will let you know how it goes. Cheers
