Including cheap ounces of decent bud for as little as $50..... What would be the best way to go about making small amounts of hash (like 10 or so grams)? About how much hash and/or oil should I expect from an ounce of buds of what would be considered dank in most places.
I plan on either:
1.using keif sifted from a keif grinder then pressing in paper or plastic with an iron
or
2. soaking all the grinded bud using golden grain or vodka then letting evaporate in a pyrex dish with a fan.

Are you unwilling to invest in some equipment that would improve your product and increase your yield? Both those methods are not ideal. Of those two I would say go with the kief catcher. You will get less chlorophyll that way. Use one with a large surface area of the screen.

you can dry sift on a screen. or make bubble hash or ice hash, or honey oil butane extraction. or if its fresh hand hash. the first three are pretty much whats up.
iso can be used to make none oil hash if done right. dry buds> put iso in freezer aswell as jar. shake jar with cold iso for 15 seconds strain through coffee filter. take more iso add to buds and do a second pull. you will get a stiff dark greenish beige product.

$50 for an ounce of headies? I'd be all over that. Even if it was beasters/kb quality. You must know the right person.

Actually the right person is a dispensary and it's not kb for $50 an oz. It's schwaggy looking buds with a good strong high that I think would be better than trim to make small amounts of hash with.

expect between a 10-15% return when making hash. At the lower side of things you would need 100 gms of bud to produce 10 gms of hash. Obviously the more resin coated the buds, the more hash you will produce.

I figured the keif grinder would be the most cost effective route because I grind all my bud in a regular grinder now. I've yet to find a grinder with actual silkscreen. My last keif grinder worked pretty well but didn't filter out the plant matter enough to press.
