I was wondering if i can make butane honey oil from resin cause i hate smokeing that stuff but i also hate to waste it?
I was planning on doing just like you would if you were useing bud.
Would it work i have never heard of anyone useing resin to do it.

Yes i mean the naste tar i scrape from my pipes and bong stem. Its got Active cheamicals i just really dont like the idea of smokeing the tar i would rather try to get oil from it. Has anyone done this.

BHO works by freezing trichomes and snapping them off so it wouldn't work since there are no trichomes left in resin to be broken off.

Butane works by dissolving thc and other organic plant compounds, not by freezing; in fact the reaction is more rapid and complete when warm.

If im such an idiot why then is it recommended to put your weed in the freezer prior to kiefing or to making BHO? Its because it makes trichomes brittle and easier to break off and butane is ice cold which would do the same. It might not be the only thing that happens in the process but its part of it.

freezing isnt necessary for bho, it is for keifing or water hash because they need to be brittle to break off during agitation, butane dissolves and strips, it is not an agitation process. and if you dont believe these guys look elsewhere, the net is a big huge place with tons of info,

Well you are still an idiot... I am however unable to fully answer your question.
Hash = trichomes broken off by non solvent extraction be dry or wet sifting
Oil = solvent extracted goodness as dr penguin said by dissolving thc and plant material into the solvent then evaporating the solvent.
I think the freezing of trim might be a moisture thing because I know if your trim isnt dry and you try to run a butane column or whatever you want to call it the exit will freeze up and possibly be dangerous to the person carrying out the extraction?
