Ive had it for about a year and its never left the refrigerator. I wonder if it can actually spoil and make you sick or if it just expires and is no longer effective.

Man, knowing where you are at, you might want to read on the spectrum site to make sure, but I think a lot of the medical/legal states test for uric acid. Things could be different though.
Sorry man I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but I'd rather be real with ya.
You could be alright, if its preemployment or something like that you may be just fine.
