Okay so you cut the leathery skin off the fat layer leave the fat. Sear both sides of tri tip. Boil the remaining fat layer and the marinade in a pot add water to keep volume. Wrap tri tip in aluminum foil BBQ indirect heat for no more than 30 mins. Pull off grill cut up tri tip. remove remaining fat layer from boiling pot add sliced mushrooms bring to boil cover then turn off to sit. Pour maranade over slightly red meat to bring to perfection and serve.
     
See how the meat is a little too red for a little kid. just pour that stuff on there and the meat will be perfect in the middle. DONT FORGET TO FEED YOUR PUPPY.!LOL

I'm guessing it is to retain moisture. Alpo is crap, wet food doesn't mean it's good food.

Tri tips don't need foil to retain moisture. I do wrap in foil AFTER I take them off the grill and let them rest for 10 minutes or so, but definitely not while cooking.

He got to eat the boiled fat layer I cut it up for him then, he went into the living room where his master gave him some tri tip he probably hit up my little brother too. And I always leave some kibbles and bits out for him. Im gonna have to watch it so he doesn't get overweight.

Also, when my dog was alive i bought $45 50lb bags of food from a local feed store. I also bought him dollar burgers when he cruised with me to get fast food. I also fed him nugs.
