yeah I defnintely believe they can change, I changed for while but I'm doing drugs again after a good amount of time of sobriety. I'm sticking to mainly dissociatives and psychs tho. No opiates, benzo's, coke or meth for me anymore.

I think I'm doing a lot better tho, everyone says I am.

:whathesaid:

I have a good friend that "Was" a heroin addict. He got locked up for a month or so and got clean( this was not the first time). He is saying that he doesn't want to fuck around with it anymore but the truth of the matter is that he most likely will. I want to believe him but usually after he "gets clean" within 2-3 months he is back couch surfing and slamming H. I hope I am wrong but the sad truth is that H will more then likely be his demise.

If they don't want it, they won't make it.
I'm pushing 13 years clean of coke and opiates.  Lucky I never liked Heroin.

A good friend of mine is pushing 20 years clean of Heroin, took eight years of prison to open his eyes.  But he made it.

I believe so but it takes time and desire. I'm a junkie; I used to spend my days all fucked up on morphine. I never did H but I did spend two years nodding off and another 5 before that fucked up on Vicodin. Although I drank a shit ton before quitting, after I quit pills, all I did was drink. Then it was blow, not skipping a day for months.
Finally I quit everything, now all I do is smoke but I need to be high all the time. Although I wish it wasn't true, I'm still a junkie with a cleaner lifestyle.

This thread made me sad when I saw it, but I'm glad to hear you're staying away from that shit bro.

Psychs and even MDMA aren't "drugs" to me. I mean, I know they ARE, but since I have done both and never felt a physical need to do them again the next day, I don't consider them what people consider drugs. If I had a kid I'd rather he do that every weekend than an opie/benzo/amp. Slippery slope.

As an example, every time I have any of that shit, I do it pretty much every day until its gone. Fortunately I've distanced myself from most drug people I knew, so getting more isn't really an option. A forced sobriety. But even if I say "I'll be reasonable with this", I never fucking am  I binge on the shit until its gone, then I don't have any until the next time I accidentally get some.

Of course it's happening inside your head.

This is just my opinion.....

I think it really depends on the user.

If someone has an addictive personality then they're gonna develop an addiction for drugs (that they're using) that allow the human body to become chemically dependent.

Then there are those people that can abuse addictive drugs and walk away from it whenever they want to.

In order to have a good grip on life ( or drug use if you will) you gotta be able to closely read yourself and identify your strengths and weaknesses.  Respect your limitations and adjust your decision making accordingly.

I'm glad I'm not a junky, straight up weed, beer and mushrooms or acid. I've snorted coke and heroin a few times years ago but never felt compelled to ever buy any and develope a habit.

Yeah man psyches and MDMA I don't consider hard, physical dependance prone drugs. Which are the only drugs I'm doing now other than dissociatives, which are the sketchiest drugs I'm doing. But I'm keeping everything in good moderation, I think I'm doing very well but I still know I will always have a junkie side to me dying to get out. But I've accepted it and I'm confident I can handle this. I have been sober for the past 2-3 weeks now, and taking a lot of breaks.

My PO says I'm doing great, passing all my drug tests, going to treatment...

What dissociatives are you doing? Is it dxm? The rc dissociatives show up as pcp on drug tests, unless you dont get the 5 panel drug tests.

Ive never been physically addicted to anything, actually, ive never even done an opiate in my life. Ive been "hooked" on stims for a matter of a few days, but ive never wanted to repeat the experience once coming down, imo stims are anti-addictive.

The only things ive ever been "addicted to" (according to other people not me) are dxm/mxe/nitrous.

I was doing 18-24 triple c's every day during highschool, I was shamefully known as "that kid who did cough medicine". There were me and a few others like me who were known for not just doing it but being "c heads"

I did it every day for 2 years, sometimes 2 times a day, sometimes id skip a day, it was aloot. I had to ride the bus (not school bus a real bus) to go home and passed by 2 publixs 1 cvs and 1 walgreens (the walgreens I didnt steal as much from because it was known for busting people) every day even if I didnt need anymore, I just stole them to have a lot, I had a huge garbage bag of coricidin and robitussin.

I had over $1000 dollars worth of cough medicine in the bag.. Probably 200 packs of triple c and 30-40 robos.

Yeah it was a stupid childish phase that im ashamed of. Luckily I was young so my body was better at repairing itself. My mxe phase was the worst because I actually lost jobs and had to have an intervention because of it. Even though its not physically addictive, I felt compelled to do it, im guessing its the same as pcp as far as addictive qualities go, id compare it to needing a cig when it comes to mxe addiction.

The intervention thing was bs I couldve stopped I just didnt want to, if that makes sense it sounds bad but I dont think I was hooked.

Have you ever done "hard" drugs? Once you find one you like and start indulging you'll eventually gain that physical dependancy, then you have to keep doing it from getting sick. From there it's all downhill.

I would consider myself to be a junkie, but I also don't understand how someone can smoke weed all day every day, I also don't see how people can drink every day.
It's all a matter of perspective.

Yeah I never wanted to go down the junkie path so a couple snorts of h and coke was all I needed just to say I've experienced it. I don't know how anyone can go about being intoxicated all day but I have a full time job, wife and kids so.... I do, however, smoke once or twice in the evenings and have a few brews, it's how I unwind from a typical day.:cookiemonster:

I never tried the hard stuff and have no interest to do so (acid, mushrooms that's fun stuff what you do at a certain time in your life.. like on a goa psyfestival :awegroove: )

You can't wrap your head around addiction? You sound too young or too sheltered.

Sometimes you just have to get smacked around before you fight back. It depends on the person. My best friend OD'd over 2 years ago and that won't change. It did get his younger brother clean and healthy. A lot of people, like my friend, are overprescribed pain meds by Shithead Dr.s and progress from there to the needle.

Many can maintain solid drug habits for years without falling into that Junkie catagorie; Most cannot. If you're going to do heroin just stick to snorting it.

I'm 37 and I've been addicted to cigarettes, kicked that habit, and im far from sheltered, good for me for having self control. I do feel bad for u guys that have no such concept of self control or responsibily, I'm sure that sure makes life way more difficult than need be.

Where was your concept of self control and responsibility when you started smoking cigarettes? Did you not know that they are deadly? I can't "wrap my head around" why an intelligent person would willingly smoke cigarettes? Why don't you go judge someone your own age, buddy.

Sometimes a person acquires an addiction simply because they are foolish but sometimes life is unfair and throws certain hardships at a person that they neither created or could avoid. In desperation that person needs something to cling on to or use as a crutch and an addiction soon follows.

Well, ass, I didn't say I didn't understand addiction, I said I don't understand how people can fall into something that thay already know is gonna doom them into an endless fight. So grow up if you're gonna respond to my posts. Thanks

He's not invited to the dome yet right?  I'm done responding to him, he seems to just be trying to be an ass anyway.

The dome is like OTD on the shroomery (pretty much a forum where almost anything goes). And stoney is the mod Justanotherasshole.

They should really change that, it used to be like 10 posts and a week of registration. Or something like that, but this place doesn't have anywhere near as much posting as it did when they changed it. Plus the dome these days is WAY more mellow than it used to be.

I hope they would have better things to do than run two online personalities. That sounds awful tedious, pal.

You can verify with any mod that I am nobody's puppet. By the way, this site is pretty easy to navigate and setting up wasn't hard either.

it'b be much more likely he's an old posters puppet rather than a moderators puppet. He seems cool to me
