jamaican seeds.

I recently obtained some seeds from Jamaica. All I know about them is they were grown on a hillside in a forest on the island. The smoke was ok. I am curious if any one has some insight on what is grown on the island, what kind of genetics it may be. I mean I understand there is no real way to narrow down specifics. Just kind of trying to get a general idea of what I may have. Are there a lot of strains in Jamaica, do we know what they are, are they easily obtained in other areas of the world, or did I happen onto a win fall? Clearly I am just rattling off questions as they come to me. I havent done any research yet. Figured I would pick some brains here. I will also probably be looking to stabilize these and grow indoors. Any suggestions on a plan of attack there. Is it worth it? I have done a little research on this so any more info is always good Thank you.

i local told me years ago they only had huge sativas on the island for years.... but now they mostly grew weed from holland ... mostly indicas ... the highgrades were called "skunk" and "blueberry"
so it all depends where the seeds came from.... could me something wicked. could be mids.

I am no expert but it smoked like sativa. But I am used to smoking A LOT of indica so I can't ne possitive. The plant structure its self was unimpressive and very seedy. I am sure I will know more when I put some in some dirt and I am and to see what it looks like alive. Thanks for the info. I am hoping its some native shit.

Yup; mostly (99%) hybrids there now. There may still be a few old sativas but they would certainly be the exception..

So you are saying expect dutch hybrid of some kind and hope for the 1%. Is there any way to diffinitively know either way? Would the old sativas be desirable?

Outstanding man. I might have to do a similar write up. Although you pretty much explained my experience. A person could pretty much buy anything they want there. Pretty crazy. I made a 24 hr stop in Denver prior to heading to the island. Went to the cup for a couple hours, Hung out at ibake lounge for a few hours. Basically 8 days of euphoric bliss.

Pop some seeds and see what they look like I'd say any sativa growing in Jamaica now would at least be interesting.
