Da Buddha has an open top design:
If you've got the right size/shape mug, that shit will keep the last couple inches of a cup of coffee alive a lot longer than would otherwise be possible... I mean the top of that thing is pouring off heat between hits anyway. Might as well harness it.
+1 for Da Buddha.
Also, I've had this thing for a long time, using it draw-style. I finally hooked it up to a clean bong, and I think the hit density/convenience factor is comparable to a Volcano. It doesn't fill for you, but it's a lot easier to keep the intake steady when it's bubbling at you and the "fun" of hitting a bong easily replaces the inconvenience of long draws on the tube.
