Right now is the best damn time ever! I've got medical marijuana, I'm growing a bunch of kickass weed! and so are so many people! it's great I can order plants and things off the internet and make/extract  my ownpsychedelics (huge advantage over the 90's), technology kicks ass right now and is only getting better (can't wait for good 3d porn ), scientists are making huge leaps in quantum physics/mechanics; understanding the universe like never before, unless you count the ancient esoteric schools that, 1000's of years ago, knew everything that is being revealed by modern science but not being accepted because of the syntax used to explain it.

BUT, the environment is taking a shit on itself with food we're feeding it (oil spill, HAARP, chemtrails, nuclear radiation from negligently designed power plants etc), apathy is at an all-time high, the government is run by corporations and always fucks the little guy in the ass without the common decency to give us a reach-around! The quality of drinking water is plummeting, the nation is so far in debt and keeps spending, and borrowing, there is no way it will ever be paid off, enticing the federal reserve to print more money to deflate the value of our currency and keep the wealth for themselves, same thing is happening in europe with the worldbank; greece etc. ie. china will own every american asset soon, blah blah blah blah...

The 90's weren't better, just different styles.

It's like 1984 (the book. it's subject matter was observable long before the year it was named after), news speak, talking heads (as in political figures, also a great band btw), elitism, fascism, capitalism, communism, all-the-ways-to-oppress-personal-freedom-and-growth-of-the-human-psyche-isms.

This bad-shit has been around a long time and the decade before you lost your innocence surly contained much of this bad-shit.

I think to get a really good decade, you'd have to go back to... lets say, the ummmm.... well.... shit has always been really shitty, we've been oppressed by people who can trick others into not developing their selves, their psychology into something better than the shit of society, which is why society is always so shitty.

Develop yourself, I guess is what I'm saying. without that you will always be remembering the better times of yesteryear while you waste the best time right now.
