What's the PPM/EC of your solution.  That's way more important than "i put 5 tsp in".  If those 5 tsp combined with your water give you 2000+ PPM, you're frying the living shit out of your plants.

1.) Nutrient companies want to sell you nutrients.  The more you use, the more you buy.

2.) Everyones water is different, people who live in an area with extremely hard water have to grow differently then people who have low ppm water coming out from the tap.  There's no way one label is going to be able to give you all the different strengths for different qualities of water.

Since you're growing hydro now PPM and pH are now your new best friends.  You need to pay attention to the way your PPM and pH swing or you're going to be fucked.  If you're not paying attention to the level of food in your plants res then you may be adding too much food when you top off.  These are not things you can ignore
