 First time making cannabutter.

This is the first time I have ever attempted to make a big batch of cannabutter.
Since I got my vape, I have decided to turn the vaped weed into cannabutter, rather than BHO.
I used 2 sticks of unsalted sweet cream butter to a half-pint of vaped weed.
I melted the butter in a slow cooker on high, added the weed and turned it down to low.
I have been told to let it sit for ~2 days, stirring occasionally.
Any comments / suggestions?

i use water and butter and cook it on slow simmer for 4 hours then cool and strain

Yea, I heard about that method.
Was told the slow cooker method was a bit better

Maybe so me and the wife cooked down a oz of popcorn buds last cycle. I couldnt get over the nasty taste of the butter? So regretfully ive yet to get a buzz from edibles . Although the people that braved the green butter flavor of the cookies got reallll fucked up.
I need to get someone in cali to mail me some of the dispensary canybars to try

no matter what, add water and keep adding water as it evaporates out. if you go just straight butter, any water thats in that will evap out and you could cook any active material out and just have weed flavored butter. your choice, so whatever you wanna end up doing i guess.

Thanks for that tip.
Just added about a cup of water to it about, ~1.5 hours in 
Although, its not actually boiling, just sitting there in melted butter.
Should I turn it to high while I'm watching/stirring it, and turn to low when I'm asleep?
I believe that Coda mentioned the slow cooker method in another thread

yeah, you can turn it up high and stir it. add way more water though, i would say 50-50. then when you think its done, pour everything into a tupperware or a bowl and cover it, put it in the fridge and wait till morning. the butter floats to the top and hardens, then you just pull off the butter and the dirty water stays at the bottom. this is all after you cheese cloth/filter out all the leaves n shit.
