Religion Poll

Being a fiend of sociology, I'm pretty curious as to the religious beliefs of fellow pot smokers. Most of my stoner friends are agnostic or atheist, but on the other hand I have friends that (like me) have discovered different forms of spirituality through cannabis and psychedelics.

When creating this poll, I was a little unsure if I should add Rastafarianism - because everyone here would pick it haha.

As for me, I'm a practicing Zen Buddhist, although I am still Agnostic. Zen simply allows me to live my life mindfully, to find peace in every moment. Zen does not advocate dogma but rather individual experience. Being a skeptic, Zen is perfect for me.

I would call myself mostly christian tho I have a hard time identifying with any particular sect of christianity.

I also have a very open mind in regards to science however I feel science has and always will only explain a small portion of our existence.

Atheist. I guess I am unsure if there is a creator but I highly doubt it is anything like any of the religions describe.  They always attach human emotions to the deities and emotions are just biological chemical responses to our environment to help us survive.  emotions such as love, hate and anger are devoid of logic.  What makes you think something that is obviously the most intelligent being would have emotions such as these?

Fact is religions are idealism and means of control.  What makes you think God cares for you in the least? If there were a god that knew all, it would feel no love or hate it would be an impartial observer at least that is my theory on the existence of god if there is one.

I feel superior to the faithfull in a way not in a universal way but an emotional one.  They are very mentally or emotionally weak individuals unable to accept  the fact that god more than likely does not exist and there is most likely no life after death. ( i feel this way because I was once there in denial of ration thought)

I feel that in this day in age given our knowledge, that it is a subject of maturity that one finally accepts that death is most likely the end of your consciousness.
