If there would be anything illegal about paying off gov't fines with a big burlap sack full of sticky pennies, I got a speeding ticket for about $500 from some fat ass inbred redneck meth addict pig fucker

I remember a story a little bit back about a guy paying of his back taxes with pennies, thought it was funny as hell. As long as it is American currency I see no reason why they would not take it or maybe even have to take it. Give it a try whats the worse they can say is no then you just go to the bank and let them run it through their machine and give you paper.

They would probably not let you do it. I was watching tom green once and he tried to pay for a ring with all pennies and got bitched at by the cops.
But you will never know till you try.
I dont think its illegal but I dont think they will accept them.

Also debt is different I believe. If entered into an agreement where legal tender is chosen as the form of payment to consolidate the debt then they cannot refuse pennies, as they're legal tender. I think that's how they were able to get the police to make the tow truck company take $88 dollars in pennies if you watch the video I posted earlier.

we aren't even on the gold standard anymore so we don't even have precious metal backing up the economy
most countries go through great steps to insure faith in the currency but nobody can MAKE you accept an unreasonable payment legal tender or not
the woman at the car lot could have said it was store policy or hell if you really want to get into it...
