So, BP isn't in charge of the claims anymore!
    #466024 -

I went to the claims office today, because I had to refile my loss of wages claim. The new people were sooooo much nicer and more helpful! I had just pretty much given up on getting any money from BP, but with the new system, I think I actually have a chance of getting something. It couldn't come at a better time, either. With the end of summer looming near, the money will help get me through the winter without a struggle like last winter. The lady said that I should have a check within 10 days. I am stoked!

They are supposedly sending me a check for 6 months worth of lost wages. It really sounds too good to be true, but the lady assured me that it would for sure happen. We'll see if they stand by their word. It made my day, for sure.

Good to hear man. But I am worried about the lack of news coverage on
the spill now. They hardly report about it anymore like there is no
longer any danger. The gulf is going to suffer greatly from this
incident for years upon years to come.

They have other wars and natural disasters to scare us with, otherwise it's boring.

It definitely is a lot worse than they are letting on in the press. It's funny, because when the oil was washing in on our beaches at a constant rate, they were all over it. Now that they can't put the disaster all over the news, it is a boring story. They would be singing a different song if a cat 3 or stronger hurricane was to blow up our asses down here. We would be up to our necks in oil that has supposedly disappeared.

Really? Because the news channel I have been watching has constantly been stressing that the problem isn't gone whenever they mention it.

I definitely am a conspiracy theorist. No shame in my game.

Also, the news channels definitely mentions and agrees that it's not over, but it's like a 2 minute segment and I live ON the coast! Scientist have said that there is still upwards of 180 million gallons of oil just lurking in the water column. Probably more.

At least they are paying up. Some guys died before they ever got their money from the Exxon Valdez.

Only because it was in the gulf and couldn't be swept under the rug, so to speak.
