You last three guys need to read Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain.

The few cooks out there that don't openly fuck with well-done orders still serve you the worst cut of meat they have in the kitchen. Good chance you're eating a steak someone else sent back or that "accidentally" fell on the floor. Seriously, the movie waiting doesn't do the average kitchen justice.

Also, don't order fish on mondays.

Good thing I cook my own then huh?

I'm to poor to eat steak at restaurants.

Only time I eat them is on debate trips when the college is paying for my food.

Exactly.

Plus since I like my steaks well done. Getting the thin ones at grocery stores is better.

Just get the whole thing crispy, covered in salt, use steak to scoop up mashed potatoes, and throw some red union pieces on it before you chomp it.

Yummmmmmmm.

Also, I tend to no like other places steaks.

They tend to not put enough seasoning salt on it, and instead put spices that taste shitty.

Same. I make my own beer and grow my own pot for the same reasons. Yet, how many steaks have you eaten at a restaurant in your life? 20? 50? More?

People inevitably end up at restaurants from time to time, and if they like steak they order it. Just saying. There is something therapeutic about eating a new york from a local (non-chain) broiler house, etc.

Yeah burgers are so much more versatile than steak there are so many possibilities. Barbequed? Broiled? Pan fried? And then with so many topping choices after that. Fuck, I want a burger now and its 8 o'clock on a wednesday morning. And I'm high. Shit.

 I just watched that one the other night too.

Also - medium. My moms boyfriend eats it super rare. His burgers also. I've seen him eat it raw. Ack.  :puke:

Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

Ive had a few really memorable steaks in my life.  The first was at the Whaling station around Monterey California.  I think i remember the steak being $65 or so.  Then another one that was memorable was at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Dallas.  Not sure how much that one cost, but it was damn good.  If i could get that kind of meat and cook those kinds of steaks that would be all i would eat, wrapped in fucking bacon!

Yeah, its all about the quality of the meat. If we are talking some choice grass-fed beef I can go more bloody. But there is no way I'm gonna get a steak from a store and cook that shit rare.

yeah, it's pretty important to get a farm store / butcher that's reputable.  I got a great place.  They'll get you anything you want that grows in a farm.
