composted h/manure as cloning medium?

Will there be any problem using peat pots with composted horse manure to start clones, its all i got and in a day or so my plants will be touching the cfls in the box so im planning on cloning tomorrow morning.

I think that fungal infections could be a problem in compost.  Most cloning mediums are inert, like sand, rockwool cubes, etc.  You could try it but I would not bank on the clones taking.  And you should sterilize it first probably.

I would pour boiling water where you are going to insert the clones.  I always do that when I clone directly into soil.

Also, can someone tell me how important it is to reduce the level of nitrogen in the mother before cloning off it?
