Hey all!
Noob here. I've been a fungus grower for a couple of years and am interested in getting into cannabis cult now. It's legal where I'm at, so I'd like to start a few plants outdoors soon. I'd like to get some seeds germinating asap and go from there.
I plan on deep diving info on here in the next few days, but any recommendations on where to start are welcome.

Have you picked out seeds yet? If not, Great Lakes Genetics is a great place to look. I'd look into some Bodhi strains such as Space Monkey, or some Doc D/Magic Spirit seeds.
As far as learning to grow, I'd say pick a method that suits your goals and stick with it. I'm a big fan of drain to waste coco with nutrient salts, but it requires much more frequent watering compared to soil so automation is almost a necessity.
I'm also a fan of true living organics in raised beds, especially outdoors. It can be tricky to get the soil mix right if you have shitty native soil and are starting from scratch, but it makes for some really easy outdoor growing once dialed in. The whole method basically revolves around quality worm castings, so it's best to get your own worm bin going and start growing dynamic accumulators like bocking 14 comfrey to feed them.

Good advice. We're looking to grow outdoors.
I do not have seeds yet. How important is it to get seeds that have been selected to thrive in my area/zone?
