Dreadlocks - whatcha think mon?
    #601862 - 12/17/11 07:05 AM (12 years, 3 months ago)

Haha, so I always wanted dreadlocks...and my hair is about 5 inches long or so right now. I'm losing some weight because I'm working a semi-physically demanding job now (moreso than before anyway) so I've decided I wanna try doing it again.

I've never seen a fat dude with dreads, so thats why I never really went for it. That, and I really hate it when my hair gets in my eyes.

What do ya think about white boys with dreads? I don't want the big fat ones, I want double pencil width ones at most.

Oh, and my plan is to not cut my hair until April or so, and then dread it up. I know 5 inches of hair would dread to like a half inch of dreads.

Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

I went to a hippy school so I've seen them all. As long as you keep them clean and well shaped they can be boss, but I always hated that dude walking around with 3 and a half locks of dirty smelly dingleberries hanging from his head.

I believe they can be kept clean if you actually put the effort into it.

Very rarely do I see people with clean dreads. And ironically it's the black people who usually have the clean dreads

Im not hating, just not my style

Every time I start growing my hair out, it starts getting a little long and I realize how disgusting it gets and how much more work it is than just shaving it

Think I remember hearing that a dip in the ocean is great for dreads, as the salt water helps keep them tight/strong. I used to have shoulder length locks for over a year when I was 17, and miss them terribly. Now my hair is permanently fucked cause instead of cutting them off, I managed to untangle all of it and lost a softball sized ball of hair.

I still love dreads. However, people doing rasta accents don't fly so well with me.

I had some short dreadlocks in high school and I died em blue cause that's my fav color. I realized the college I was going to was in a different town so I would have to ditch em for a job interview. Turned out, there was another white guy workin there with dreads  :foreheadslap:

I will say that it takes an effort to keep locks clean locks, it's not a du for lazy people. I also detangled mine and now I always look like a just started balding -that's especially embarrassing at 21.

not a very clear picture but I really miss those locks. nothing like rockin out at band practice with the dreads swingin an shit

Dreads on a white person can be really nice, but also really disgusting, I guess it always depends on how well it is made, and also on the person.

That's John Butler, the dirtiest hippy on the earth, he had dreads past his ass for years then shaved his head

The only people with dreads should be black or sadhu, just grow your hair long whities....... the only reason rasta dread theirs is so they can do the long hair flip thing like whites anyway.
If you want to emulate another guys cool haircut go with this classic, you'll be the talk of the town.
