It definitely does....I remember the days when my tolerance was super low, damn near no tolerance. I would have full blown psychedelic experiences, open eye visual distortions, intricate closed eye visuals, waves or pure euphoria sweeping over my body. Complete loss of my sense of time, I was only in the "now", because of this I couldn't even talk....This was about a year or so before I ever started to dabble with psychedelics.
Cannabis is most certainly a psychedelic IMO, though tolerance builds so damn quickly that most people don't experience the plants full potential. But even with the mild tolerance I have now, a potent dose of edibles will have me out there. Edibles have a far more psychedelic feel compared to smoking in my experience.

I will say this...I, in my experience, have had more paranoia and anxiety from cannabis than I have ever had from any psychedelic (I have 50 to 75 trips under my belt). Sure I have gone through moments while tripping where I have feel uncomfortable, or things get very intense and difficult, but it's different than the straight up paranoia and anxiety I used to get from cannabis (I do occasionally still have anxiety from certain strains of pot)...
Spenner, you sorta remind me of my younger self, just from the few posts I've seen of yours around here and the way you describe things. I could be way off though  , shit, you could very well be older than me  ....

Dude, I know exactly what you mean. You described it well, it is indeed as if there is more depth behind the eye lids rather than being somewhat 2-d and flat blackness. I often experience this after a fair amount of cannabis is smoked, and from dissociatives such as Nitrous, Ketamine, and DXM. Somewhat from psychedelics, but with psychedelic there is a whole lot more going on then just more depth and some shapes/colors.
BTW...I'm high as a fucking kite. Smoking on some more of that "Jack Herer X G13" and also have some "Mendo Purps". ...Zooted from this Kratom too

Aussie Pink Floyd was a fucking great show, they did play Careful With That Axe Eugene, it was fucking great, they improvised a lot during that song, they played lots of songs from the division bell, but also songs from all the albums.
There were so many ppl, people from the 60's were smoking joints infront of us, so we light up our (s), a fucking dang good show, for 55$, it is soooo worth it!

That's actually kind of reassuring I'm not alone with crazy psychedelic experiences with just cannabis!  tolerance does build quickly, but generally just a week and I'm back to square one, and even if I smoke in between then I don't need much more to go head over heels 8]
And no, I haven't tried any psychedelics yet at all, though I'm really looking forwards to MOSTLY psilocybe and LSD. Just from my extensive studying on the subject... and the fact that there IS familiarity with the idea of having those tripping feelings, at least so I THINK, from higher doses of cannabis.
And I totally agree, even though I haven't had any true psychedelics, it makes sense that cannabis can make more anxiety. The amplification factor it has on sensations is intense, and the amount of focus on the smallest of ideas makes the small become the grandeur; imagining a voice, or letting my mind run through it's "what if??" algorithm (starts streaming imaginations of pessimistic things, like my dad walking in seeing me high, someone yelling and I can't hear them, etc) becomes incredibly vivid when I let it. And can cause a lot of anxiety and make me have a pretty shitty time because ALL of my focus is on worrying.
Which for me, sounds like good practice with controlling your mind. If you can dance in and out of those kinds of moments, be able to take them for what they are, and realize there's potential for better things to grab your attention, and have a good time again. Much like remaining happy on a sober basis- in fact, that kind of "practice" actually helps me stay happy during the day!
Now. Time to smoke

I've most definitely have had intense psychedelic experiences from cannabis.
It can be like a mushroom or LSD trip, but not quite as intense and overpowering. It's not the same as a really good high dose trip, but it's like a mini version.
Whenever I use psychedelics it makes cannabis and everything much better for a long time afterward.

goodstuff. Is that possibly because of the familiarity in of the frame of mind when high, you're able to put yourself in the same sort of state as when you'd be on LSD or something? A gateway opener, I guess?
The comedown of a big dose of weed always makes me so exhausted @___@ time to drink.

I have 2 texts to write on native american cosmologies... Like I need to resume 2 texts I read, but they all are on the website of the class... and that goddamn website is getting a maintenance for 3 days
