This is somebody's status on facebook. What should my reply be?
I was thinking "If they want to be accepted, then why don't we treat them as people and not specifically point them out?"

I hate these fucking chain letter facebook things. I saw one that was about Jesus and another one that was about cancer. Neither of which claimed that either was getting anything other than emotional support from facebook members. It'd be different if someone was donating like a cent or something for every person who posted it in their status but it's always pointless shit.
Eh just cause you care about slow kids(even though you might not know any or anybody who has any) or aids or cancer or whatever doesn't mean anybody on your friend's list does. The end result is you looking like a stupid whiny gasbag.
