I don't know much about Miracle Grow, but I can help you with the last part of your question. There are a few very good organic soil mixes to chose from, but I'm going to direct you to the one MANY beginners use, and it's a great mix. It's even nicer the more plants you have as you'll be saving money compared to buying bags of Miracle Grow. The mix with also generally last through flowering.

However, in organic mixes is is VERY important to maintain your soil organisms. They range in size from the tiniest one-celled bacteria, algae, fungi, and protozoa, to the more complex nematodes and micro-arthropods, to the visible earthworms, insects, small vertebrates, and plants. They allow the breakdown of the nutrients in a form that plants can use. use forms of manure, or humus to up your "herd", earthworm castings, or compost are great for this. Second it is important to water with either rainwater or reverse osmosis. You could collect water from a small, non polluted stream also. If you use tap water, every time you water your plants you will be destroying your micro organisms, thus disabling your plants from obtaining the blood, bone, and kelp meal in your soil.

Here's a more in depth look at Soil Biology.

Good Luck with your organic grow.

You can get 3 cubic foot bails of Premier peat moss at home depot for $8.50. Most local shops carry it though. Your probably going to need to go to a local nursery for the other soil amendments.

Your patients will enjoy the natural organic flavor of your cannabis.

If you don't want to hassle with mixing your own blend of organic soil, I would suggest Fox Farm's Ocean Forest pre-packaged soil.  I've been an avid gardener for years (of all plants), and the Ocean Forest soil is the best pre-mix I've yet experienced.  Use this locator page to find your nearest distributor, as the soil itself is expensive enough and you wouldn't want to ship these heavy bags via post!
