Hello everyone!
I have 5 lovely ladies that are budding beautifully and in a month or so I will harvest them. I was wondering if 5 plants are worth making hash out of? I really would like to make some if it is worth it. This is my first grow and I am excited to harvest in a month!!!!
I was also wondering what parts of the plant to make hash from? I don't want to use the beautiful buds, because I want to smoke those.

Welcome to the boards MJ girl. After you harvest, you will want to trim off all the lower fan leaves as well as the frosty trim leaves from the buds. You can use the trim leaves for hash because they are covered in trichomes. As for whether or not its worth it, I use trim from just 2 plants usually end up with a decent pile of kif or oil.
What method do you plan on using to make hash? Can we see any pics of the girls?

I was thinking of buying some bubble bags like these ones:

I have read that that method is the best, but I am not sure if it is worth spending the money for them? What do you guys think? How much hash should I get?

I grow on about the same scale as you do and I have yet to buy any bubble-bags because of the price and how little I would yield. (can't tell you exactly, but I have heard its around 10:1 trim to hash) I would certainly love to have a set though as bubble hash is fantastic. I would say that if you are running short on cash, do a simple butane extraction, it will cost about 25$ to process all your trim. If, on the other hand, you have the money and plan to grow again in the future, buy the bags; you will love the product.

Hexane or acetone is much easier to work with and less dangerous then butane, the end product is also just as or more pure then butane. I'd highly recommend that over butane for a newbie to extractions because the chance of a higher yield is more significant then with butane.
Also, bubble bags are great and all, but it's been my experience that unless you're processing around a 1/4 lb of trim or so that's WORTH it (read: absolutely frosted trim), the yields are just pathetic. Plus bags are EXPENSIVE, but if you have the spare cash and don't mind spending it they are definitely worth it to have around for the future.
