i was curious about your thoughts or experience with this. take gauze with pyroxide and rooting hormone, wrap around appropriate place on a plant. wrap with a small amount of plastic if gauze does nto stay wet. anyone see a problem with this? be great if it worked wouldnt stop growing while pushin out roots aswell. after just cut off and place in a medium. what you think? fuck up the rest of the plant??
faster stronger clones. if it doesnt root no wasted meristem (unless causes rot, but i think with pyroxide and airy cotton it should be ok for the few days it would take) would take off a week or more off of normal cloning and no need for special cloning set up.
Ever read a bottle of rooting gel? It's not the rooting hormone that all the warning are about. The first job of rooting gel is to burn the outside of the stem so roots can grow from the layer under it. (the only place roots can start)
What your referring to is called air layering. Cut a "V" shape notch in the stem not all the way threw of course. You can make a splint kind of thing to help ad a little strenth to the area of the stem your going to cut. Put some soil, coir, peat moss around it then wrap that with the cloth. Then wrap that in plastic if you can't keep the moisture up.
so you were almost there but yeah you can take cuttings while still on the plant.
