I have always questioned myself how I would handle parenthood and smoking. When i was like 17/18 I always told my self that if I had a kid that waned to smoke, I would be that cool parent who let them. But now since I have been away for a bit, and I see how these type of parents and how their children end up, I began to question my own opinion. Now I think i wouldn't be that cool parent until they were standing on their own feet with a good job, and after a good education.
How do you believe parents should handle the MJ?

It's better to keep them in the house high all the time then have them outside doing a bunch of other shit.
That's how my friends family work.
+ It's a great way to bond with the kid.

I would be ok with my son/daughter smoking as long as they excelled well academically and stayed out of trouble.
I also feel once they enter high school they are old enough to make this decision.

but really in highschool, i feel they are not mature enough. I have noticed a great deal of chagne in my maturity level since i have graduated and moved on to college. most of the stoner in my highschool never excelled academically. I just feel they should wait until they are 18 like i did, the first time i ever smoked was my senior eyar winter break (besides senior year is teh easy every) and i never got drank until my graduation night (and got shit faced)

I can understand what you mean. When kids enter high school, they immediately think they are badass and such...i never drank or smoked until i was 17. It was a good decision.

I started young and did pretty well at school.  Like I said I would only allow it under the conditions that they keep their grades up and stay out of trouble.

My best friend smoked weed just about everyday Junior and Senior year of high school. And by everyday it was like all day everyday.
Has an academic full ride for four years to a top university.
It depends on the kid. Can you smoke weed and function? If your kid can, let him blaze.

hell nah, my dad was so on my ass about school, i graduated highschool with a 3.6....and i feel if i smoked all thru highschool, i would have the whole DGAF trian of thought like all the others. Now i LOVE to stundy and smoke at the same time, no stress.

yeah same, if my kid were to start blowing off school and shit i'd just have to cut him off from smoking my shit. Assuming by the time i have a kid i'll also have a house and lots of plants.

If you let your kids smoke, you are letting them break the law. You might not care but consider if your kid gets caught their life will be de-railed. Court and probation followed by marks on their permanent record. That mark will deter employers and colleges from choosing your kid.
It's easy to say "yea i'll just let my kid smoke" and actually think it out and do it. It you provided the substance for them and allowed them to use it stealthily near/in the house its a different story. But by allowing them to toke you are letting them take a risk that could fuck up their life depending on your laws.
I'm not sure where i actually stand on the issue. I'm just evaluating it all.

Kids do what they want without permission from anyone. If my sons decide to start doing drugs of any kind, i want them to be open with me about it. I will talk to them and tell them my stories, then try to get them to understand moderation and act responsible. They will do what they want no matter what i say in some cases, I'm going to be open about it with them. Drugs shouldn't be in schools but they are, so I'm going to teach them the real dangers of drugs, not the propaganda bullshit.
