I germinated A mango seedthen transferred to a Dixie cup with PURE coir.
It hasn't popped through the top layer of the coir yet but I'm wondering if coir is going to be too moist and is it going to shrink too much if it drys up a little should I keep it moist or let it dry then water .
What are some good nutrients or brands to use .

Put some plastic wrap or a clear baggie over it with a few air holes poked in it if your concerned it will dry out. Air it out a few times a day then take the cover off and get a small fan around it when its short to keep it from stretching too much at first. You'll need nutrients early on but plain water might do well in the first few days or weeks. I usually use a little peat moss with coco to start seedlings so I don't have to feed them at first.

for young seedlings, dont use nutrients. u could do a dilute nitrogen rich nutrient thats about it for seedlings.
And the baggie trick works great, ive used that before.

Thanks a lot the plastic over the top works great! I've used that and skipped the Baggie method. damn the rain came down hard today and washed the seed up . I brought it indoor . The seed is still attatched to the root so I'm guessing it will be ok . I think I actually put it a little deeper now so it should be alright.. When I transfer it I wanted to try a 1/2 perlite 1/2 coir mix . Does anyone know how long a feminized seed takes to flower outdoors
