 How much edibles for a first timer

Hey everyone, I was just wondering how many mg I should have for my second time doing an edible. The first time I'm not sure how many mg I ate but I was decently high. I also smoke a few times a week. So how many mg of thc do you guys recommend I consume?

I find 15mg to be a mild-to-moderate dose, 30mg is strong for me.
20mg would be decent.
Everyone reacts differently thou, so tread lightly with this info.

20mg? So if I made a batch of brownies with 2g of thc extracted into the butter/oil, it would make 100 doses?
That has not been my experiance, but I have not made brownies with a decent bag before.
Now that I think about it that may be appropriate. You just made me realize how easy I can make a batch.

thc is twice as strong when you eat it because your stomach breaks it down and it hits the brain better

20mg is weak af. Even for a novice user imo.

I know 30mg is strong cause i had these little gummies made by a dispenser. The gummies were 15mg each. One was good, but two was too strong with my zero tolerance. Of course with tolerance, 30mg is probably pretty good.
In the past, ive made a mac n cheese herb edible with about an eight, and i ate most of it, definitely greened out. too much weed. I would say half an eight per person is likely pretty good.
Brownies are hard to dose right. I think it would be easier to make doses for one person in seperate batches but thats just me.

I think what he's referring to is the fact that all actives in edibles must pass through the liver before distributing to the rest of the body. Therefore, roughly equal amounts of delta-9-THC and it's first metabolite, 11-OH-THC, are present during the initial plasma concentration peak after consuming. 11-OH-THC is active, better able to cross the blood-brain barrier, and some resources claim it acts more strongly on the cannabinoid receptors than delta-9-THC does. This would also explain why some people claim the nature of the edibles high just feels a little different than the smoke/vape high.
