I would like to dabble in the growth of some poppy and some kratom.
Obviously im not talking about massive amounts, but i do think it would be fun to watch a few grow.

I tried growing poppy's once. They didn't do well in the hot so cal weather. I remember reading they thrive in cool conditions. Properly why they grow in the mountains of Afghanistan/Pakistan.

If you could get that kratom tree to root deep enough it might would live thru the South Texas winter.
Poppies are fairly easy to grow, I think I still have some seeds laying around.

ive done poppy 3 years.... they HATE being transplanted and being over watered.
Ive smoked pure homegrown opium too... its a waste so i usually made pod tea
seeds = super cheap on ebay
getting kind late in the year for gardening projects here, not sure how it works in texas

i was doin it the real way (slicing it and scraping the sap) so i didnt need to extract it down .
When i made tea outta pure pods and stems id just drink the tea . I always wondered if the extracted tea could be refined to a smokable thing
