Sooooooooooo, after years of fucking around with really half assed setups, I bought my first tent today. I only really grow for myself, so I don't need anything huge. I think my setup is going to be really awesome for what I use it for.
Here is a picture of the tent. It should be here next week I'm hoping.
It set me back about $90, but I'll get such better control in an inclosed space like this. Light is still a 400w HPS. I don't have an air cooled hood for the light, but I'll be leaving the ballast outside of the tent and running my 6 inch duct fan up top pulling air through the passive intakes. I know its not ideal, but I doubt it'll get much hotter than my closet used to. If it does, it'll be in a dark room anyway and I can keep the door open, but I don't think it'll be an issue.
I have 3 bagseed girls (hopefully) in about week 4 of veg right now. I fucked up and forgot to pH (and can't find my solution) so they're pretty yellowed right now X.X I've got some solution on the way, I think I'll be flipping them to 12/12 now to get them sexed and ready for the tent. Pics upon first flowers, and probably weekly or so afterwards.

cool man, what is it a 2x2x5? i have a 2x2x5. I use mine as a mother plant tent, but you could fit 2-3 plants in 5 gallon pots/dwc units in there to flower.

I've done it, not large plants mind you, and they are cramped. If you can't get 3 plants into a 3x4.5x7 tent they must be huge. I'm talking plants that max out to 3 ft after flower and have been properly trimmed and lollipopped. Hell my buddy has 4 plants in 3 gallon pots in the same tent i use for my mother, 2x2x5. Sure they are cramped and do touch, but he's done it lots of times and gets on average a oz per plant. Guess it depends how much space you want to give them, and what your looking for in yield per plant.

its 32 x 32 x 63. So just about 3 x 3 x 5. I can fit 4 plants in there, I'm fully confident of that. I keep my shit small and topped, it won't be an issue. I only grow smoke for myself, and I keep a fairly constant rotation throughout the winter months to last me all summer.
Trip to the hydro store Monday/Tuesday and picking up some roots organic or ocean forest. I dunno, I liked them both. I think I did better in OF.

Ah! I LOVE THIS TENT. Seriously, it keeps all the smell in without a carbon filter, it doesn't leak light in, its small and has kept my plant very happy.
I ended up with only one lady, shes been flowering for 4 weeks now or so. Kinda slacked off on the growing but had to get my ass in gear (running out of buds  ). Will post pics next time I pull her out from under the light.
I only have my 150 running since I only have the one plant. Its definitely not the 400, but its doing a nice job of keeping her going. Hopefully after the new year I'll have some cash to finally get the fucking fans I need to put the 400 in there. Its nice not having that loud ass fan/light running though...
Just bought myself a bag of FFOF...I'm sick of how slowly coir starts, so I decided I'm gonna go back to dirt for this next run. Gonna do 10 autoflowers, keeping both male AND female (want seeds). Just doing them in quart pots, only looking to get a little smoke, I mainly want the seeds for this summer when I have to go outdoors with it 
Just thought I'd give a little update. Sorry for not having pics...they'll be along before I chop her. Planning on cutting it down January 12th or so...got a lady friend moving here who loves to smoke, shes never been a part of the growing process so I'm very excited for her to help. And hopefully it'll bring us closer as well

as a novice, you are able to do things like that. we had 4 plants in a what seemed like a 2x3x3, we killed one off due to space.
keep in mind we were total noobs and you could say the grow was a disaster
