ive never been on any website like this one before
with message boerds & etc so if there is anything i should
know i would be appreciative if you could give me some insight
last but not least i am wanting to start a grow tent
in my closet something small maybe 1 plant flowering
maybe another 2 or 3 Veggin & cloning and all times,
for the flowering i was thinking a 250 watt MH & HPS
lights would be enough. but i wanted an opinion for more
experienced growers

Yeah if your talking about 1 plant it will work depending on how big you want that plant. 250 isn't gonna be a light you can get a plant very tall with. Myself the smallest bulb I'd go with even for just personal would be a 400watt.
Your also gonna need another grow area besides the tent if you want to keep some vegging and taking cuttings while also flowering. (You may already know this but since it wasn't stated I have to add this) Your also gonna need to pick what lights you're gonna use for the cuttings and the vegging plants.

They will work for veg growth. I wouldn't use them for flowering. A 250watt would work for vegging a few plants also. I just like more power for flowering but that is a me thing. That and I like full buds all the way down the plant.
This was done with a 400watt HPS
Not gonna happen with a 250

400?
& how much extra electricity would you say that runs
cause that has always been a concern of mine

I've grown with a 250 plenty of time just haven't done it since the 1980's cause I want more then a 250 can provide. A couple of 400s isn't gonna turn any heads if that's what your worried about. A few 1000's wouldn't for that matter. (which are the size bulbs I've been using for quite a few years now).

what about in an apartment?
& haha awesome! i wasn't even alive in the 80's
also, i thought about starting with 4x4 grodan grow
blocks after i get them germinated & sprouted
transplanting them to clay pellets in a DWC
you think i would still have a big
bacteria & algae problem?

You don't need the 4x4 if your planning to go to a dwc system (great method of growing by the way).

what is the best way to
start it from germ.
just go directly to the clay?
and yea i kinda thought it was. i was between that
& ebb & flow for a minute but i felt
DWC seemed like something i could really enjoy

Start the seen in a small rockwool cube once it germinates. The towel method of germinating the seeds is the easiest and one I use to this day. Go to the clay rocks once the roots penetrate the cube.
I myself use ebb and flow is what I use now but DWC is the easiest and simple to set up.
