Spider mites late in flowering?
    #666789 - 04/19/13 07:57 PM (10 years, 11 months ago)

Day 45 flowering, saw a single spider mite on one bud and know that it's only a matter of time before they start showing up more often.:mad2:

Are there any treatments that are safe to use this late in flowering?

I have about 5 or 10 cc's of Azamax from a friend, been stored in a pill bottle for a few months but I don't believe that's going to be good for this latein flowering.

Azamax is the only thing that I know of that is rated supposedly safe for late flowering.

Most people wont use it that late in flower.  People don't want to smoke pyrethrum, it's highly toxic.

Just keep killing them.  How long of a flower period do you have?  It's possible that you can keep it under control without using anything if you don't have to long.  Then once you harvest, bug bomb the area.  Then wait a week and bug bomb it again.  Then once you start back up you should hit them with some AVID.

its true, you migt be able to get aways with it. Do you have fans in your grow space? do you spray them with water ever?
they will only eat live plants so When you hang the plants up to dry you will see the spider mites leaving from the main stem. They should all leave but you will still have poop and eggs in your bud

We've all smoked spider mites.  No need to worry about it imo.

" Because its active ingredient is Pyrethrum, which is derived from chrysanthemum flowers, it can be applied up to the day of harvest on any fruit or vegetable. "
that is a quote from their website about it.

I've used it for whiteflies, aphids stuff like that but it didn't do shit for mites. Really the only thing I've found that can wipe em out in one use should only be used during the veg stage is Avid.

I decided not to use anything, I only saw one and haven't seen any since then.

The more sativa pheno of G13Haze was supposed to be 9-10 weeks, but this is showing a few amber trichomes and it's on day 51 (Haven't even finished week 8 yet.)

Just flushed tonight, so harvest should be in a week, I might water again with just clean water at the end of the week if it looks like it needs another few days to ripen up.

How about a power wash?

Can they be used that late?

I have been lucky, bug-wise, so far.

Good luck OP.

Well, I was not so far off from "Mighty" Wash that someone might have thought of it.

I have not used such a product, but it does say:
Quote:

It may be used throughout the grow and flower cycle up to and including the day of harvest.

See it here.

Good luck OP.

Thanks for clarifying JD, I had never heard about it until you posted that link. Definitely interesting and I'm gonna be looking more into it in case of future problems.
So far I haven't seen any since the first one, but they may just be in hiding. :paranoid:

So we really have no idea what's in it.  I don't like that at all.
