Carbon filters?
    #650354 - 12/09/12 10:46 PM (11 years, 3 months ago)

ok I was looking on line and see that there are a lot of different options.. now what would be the best brand to go with to remove most or all the smell from the air that I will be venting out?

cause im thinking that I could use the hot air and run it threw my house to help cut down on the heating bill during the winter cause if im already spending the money to power the lights and make that heat then why spend extra money to heat my house if I already have that heat made

I personally use Phresh Air.  But they all work about the same.  The key is that your making sure that you're moving enough air from your room.

now about how big of a filter would I need for a room that is 11'x9'7"
or would it be better to use 2 filters?

No, 1700CFM 12x39

And you still want need to buy the fan as well.

You may be able to get away with the 10", but why risk it.

Not necessarily.  Veg usually isn't too stinky.  Usually just through flowering.

Do you mean at normal intervals you would exhaust the room (like every 5 min or so), or literally nonstop?

Non stop, otherwise it's going to smell and negates the point of using it.  You should be constantly exchanging the air in your room to begin with.

So you wouldn't necessarily need a timer for the high velocity exhaust fan?  Maybe just a fan speed control?

Why would you want to run it at anything less that as much as possible?  The more air exchange the better.

Sounds good to me, I'm trying to gather as much knowledge as I can before I get started and I've seen threads that some people were running there fan for so long every so often.  I'll always trust a TC, thanks!

Well if they are running CO2 and what not then your going to need to do things like that.  I highly suggest you buy a book and peruse through it.
