Hey guys, I found some seeds, can I plant them outside and make them grow? I live in hardiness zone 8b.

Sure you CAN plant them outside and make them grow. But you may want to do some research into soil amending and general cultivation before you begin.

If you have a tap root they will grow.

Unfortunately it's not growing. I assume I planted it too deep or something. I'll try again though. Any tips for planting it?

Once the tap root shows. Then you very gently put it just underneath the soil. No more than a 1./4 inch under.

Its been 8 days has it reached the surface?
You can use a clean nail or something to slowly pick off the top layer of soil and help it out.

Yeah! One is growing! Right now it's just a tap root connected to a seed, but every time I check it, it gets higher and higher up.
Where the hell am I going to plant this thing...

Put it in a pot with good soil, and throw it in the back yard. Or do an indoor grow.

If he lives in North America he would be lucky to get 3 grams if he were to grow outdoors at this time of the year.

Heh, what if it's a male plant? I could make hemp and get free paper or something. I'll probably make one of those PC grow boxes. I'll look into that.

Hemp plants are totally different than the ones we grow for weed man....PC box would work fine, you're still not going to end up with much in one of those.

Hey guys, so I'll be using a small growing space, and so I would need to flower asap, right? Well how do I flower the plant? Something about changing the lighting.

Oh man, you really need to do more research.
But yes, you change the lighting to 12 on 12 off. And you need to make sure there is absolutely no light coming in on the off times.

Thanks. Yeah I'm learning, one thing at a time. I'm about to go to Walmart though and get some light bulbs, can you tell me which ones to get? I know that it's going to be some CFLs.

Well what wattage of CFL should I get? It's going to be for 1 plant in a closed space. Is it just higher wattage = better? Should I just go for the highest wattage I can afford or what?

Alright, well, how do I know what spectrum these lights make? I'm pretty sure that it has to be in the red spectrum. Would these be okay, if I bought 4 of them or something.

Those will work fine during veg. You'll want to find some around 2100 to 2800 k to add for flowering. The more light the better.

Well......I guess it depends on your container height eh? In that small of a container I would just go with no screen.

Do I need an Intake Fan? [Re: reshark]

Hey, so I just read this here which states that an intake fan is not recommended. But what do you guys think? For my little PC grow box would it matter that much?
Thanks

Well you're going to want to go straight to flower with such little room man. I don't know how your socket is setup, so I don't really know what to tell you on how to fix that.

I'm wondering how most other people do their wiring in a grow box like that. I would need some kind of socket that's on a flexible wire, instead of just going strait into the power strip like mine is.

Yes. Just use a number of the short-type extension cords to deliver power to each socket. Then you can at least lay them flat against the roof of that thing.
Good luck,
JD
P.S. I am seeing 6' cords for $1.47 online.
