I'd sorta figured it was something like that, the way it just said that the servers were busy and the website couldn't be reached.

@ddos question its basically some asshole sending a ton of false traffic to the site to lag it out and break it.

I suspect it was someone familiar with the site. We have had a few people on here who brag about their ability to hack. MrHybrid comes to mind as an example, but I have no idea if he actually did it.
Whoever did it is probably coming back and watching to see how people react to his short-lived prank.

Wasn't my intention to lay blame. Maybe I should have avoided naming anyone, but he made a convenient example due to the nature of his posts.
Was just pointing out that it seemed likely someone who comes here did it. Why else target the site? Not likely some pissed off govt agent did it.

harvested five beautiful girls saturday night, and was hoping to post pics.
guess i'll just post pics once it's dry.

From what I heard from Shroomery members & mods, it was a pissed off member that got banned from the Shroomery, and was so pissed that he just sent DDos attack to both sites.

Well I heard they were hosted on European Servers, so maybe Ythan switched hosts to get around the DDOS

Nah, we're still AZ based. Though we have been playing with our DNS settings to utilize different IP's in efforts to mitigate the attacks. It's pretty much a nasty game of cat and mouse and there ain't too much we can do but try to stay one step ahead.
