Hey Everyone!

Alright, last time I started to write this I was interrupted by a visitor. So, I will get as much of this done as I can as I enjoy my cup of tea tonight. I'm mostly writing this so I can keep track of my progress on more than a paper journal and include pics with it. (Some info may be repeated but its to help my own brain keep track/ remember what the hell I'm doing).

If you've looked at my pics those are the plants I'm referring to. I will be taking more recent photos when my camera charges cause the ones in my album now are from a month ago, and I plan to post pics in the random seeds album every 4-5 days (I'm going to attempt to stay committed to this journal!). I am not uneducated with this hobby but I am not a master grower as is this is my first time attempting to care for this type of plant. Thankfully growing up I was the child of a Master Gardener & a Tropical Plant Specialist (& no not of the Jenny verity), So, I have been basically living in the garden/ with tropical plants my whole life. This does not mean I know crap about Jenny (I am fairly educated on the topic however) so save the hate. I have done much much tinkering with many aspects of these plants and their growing/ living conditions that many "season growers" would not agree with (like tinkering with the light cycle every now and then just cause) so ya ya ya I know lecture me all you want but what I've been doing seems to be working out pretty good so far. So until I start getting zero yield or killing my plants or turning them male, I will continue to venture new possible ideas that may increase yield. Thankfully I can afford to tinker and fuck up because this is only a hobby project.

Small little set up using 2 different closets.

1) Veg closet: (lxwxh)4.5'x 3.5'x 14'. I'm using 4 GE plant & aquarium 48" blubs, 2 in each light fixture and one light fixture hanging on each side wall of closet, metal rack in center for clones/ babies. Bottom lined w newspaper that is changed weekly and a cut to fit piece of tarp. Bottom half of door is tin foiled & the inside of closet is coated with a thick reflective Mylar film. Door is fitted with thermometer. Currently home to 5 new baby clones potted in starter phase pots, 2 clones still in clone tray, and 6 beautiful females. 24 hour light cycle used with a 12 hour break every now and then.Misted daily.

2)Bud room: 4'x3'x14'. Using 500 watt HPS bulb with reflective hooded fixture. External exhaust fan, 2 normal fans for circulation & I also have them placed strategically between plants & light so one fan will cool the light & the light given off to the plants will not be 100% direct, reducing the risk of burning them; and an air purifier. This whole closet is lined with the thick reflective Mylar film also. Floor is stained wood. & humidity is controlled by hand via misting the door/ walls with water due to the HPS bulb. 12 hour light cycle that I turn on and off at different calculated time increments that mimic the natural course of a day and how the day length changes day to day & "sunrise, sunset" mimicking; this is used with a 24 hours of dark period when switching from veg to bud at start. Plants are misted 3x during their dark period and then fed when lights come on. After 30 day in bud stage plants are fed with a mix of distilled water and 100% natural pineapple juice one day and water with Dutch Nutrients the next.

Plats- Eat: City tap water left to sit for 24 hours. Will be switching over to Distilled water (with pineapple juice) for the 5 in budding for the remaining time till harvest. Dutch Nutrients given every other day, misted daily with water by hand & a little bit of second hand toke from daily bonding sessions (Ha,ha). Living in: Nutrimix pH balance soil, & I decided to try XL Ziploc bags rather than grow bags (risking the transparency affecting their growth and root system, so far so good). Protection for plants against pests: Fly glue paper traps hanging (I don't what to use any chemicals except the nutrients and what is in the potting soil. As close to "organic" as possible)

-Started on, October 8th, 2011 when I got the brilliant idea to try and germinate some seeds, why not? Took a bag with 150 seeds I've had the fortune of saving from the grinder over the last year, soaked the paper towel, and let em for for about 5 days. Of the 150 I go 80 that sprouted. I transplanted them into random small yogurt containers with pH balance soil and only water. Started veg nutrients 1 week later feeding 2x a day and then once they were reasonably tall I cut back to root feedings once a day and using nutrients every other day. I kept the plants on 24 hour cycle. Plant misting with water started in month 4. All new sprouts on plants in veg wile growing I topped with scissors. (Plants transplanted into XL Ziploc bags at month 2)

I have kept them on this schedule up until now, during their 5 months of life so far they have gone down in numbers dramatically from 80 plants to 11 plants. Many things contributed to the decrease in numbers such as cat attack X2 (my one fat ass cat is addicted to the raw leaf. Had to nurse many consumed plants back to health), idiots not taking care of my plants while vacation and coming home to all of them wilted on the brink of death (yes I nursed most back but 5 good females died the first time and 1 the second). Idiot partner who never helps showed up and decided to try to "help" one weekend I was away & transplanted my plants into pots his friend had given him, he did not wash them and.. I was faced with an epic fungus gnat battle! I won by letting the soil dry out big time & I put up the fly paper/ glue traps. & Finally I ended up with some males so they had to be eliminated. I am doing everything to make sure the plants only encounter chemicals in the form of their Nutrients & that's it.

-February 6th- I picked the top 4 and the 1 plant that is not very healthy (has always been this way, I think she's a bad seed but i refuse to give up on her, I have the money and time so who cares)cloned them, and switched them into the bud closet. They had a 24 hour period of complete dark w no food or misting and a week of feeding with just water to flush out the nutrients from veg. I then started them on the bud nutrients once a day at start of light cycle with misting during dark and then backed it down to every other day nutrients. It has almost been a month in bud for 4 of the plants but 1 of the 5 moved to the bud room by my partner was male (tried to tell him for about 2 months prior to bud but he didn't listen cause' he's an idiot)& the sad fact about this was that he fucked up and cloned the male so now we wait and see how many clones are male. The newest "replacement 5th" as of today she has been in bud about two weeks. The plants in bud range from 2 feet tall to 4 feet tall and are looking really good with exception of the one that I'm trying to nurse to normal good health, but, even she's started to produce buds regardless. Plants in veg stage are about 1-4 feet tall(I will start to post more pics when I'm done this entry and my camera is charged, the ones I have up in the album are from the day I moved them). Also a side note: I am not using humidity control, any device that measures humidity, or a pH motoring kit. This is seriously bare bones fun project and many of you I'm sure would not approve.

Well, that pretty much brings me to where I am now. I know I am missing a lot but I am tired right now. I will be adding in more/ listing all my issues I've run into/ how i solved them and other odd tinkering with the plants I have done very soon.

Thanks for reading! ** I welcome any comments or advice or helpful hints from anyone & I'm always happy to communicate with people and exchange info/ tips. Just don't message me criticizing how I chose to proceed with raising these girls because i don't follow certain rules you deem "should be followed." I'm sorry I can afford/ like/ want to experiment and tinker
