I thought Id mention that spice hits on opiod receptors. Its highly likely that as an addict you have a proliferation of opiod receptors, more than an opiate naive person would have, so spice (or even 3 beers) is going to affect you in an opiate type way. If youre serious about getting off smack, you have to stop doing everything, and get on methadone or subutex maintenance with decreasing doses or simply go cold turkey under medical supervision. Theres help out there, 2 years of regular use shouldnt be too hard to kick. Are you kickin, big time or just mildly?

No way am I using suboxone or subutex. I am off that shit. Spice is nothing like using dope. It's like a glorified cigarette.
DD- I know it's not a huge deal, but this is the longest ive gone without using in 2 years. to me it's a big deal. ive never been able to stop using. And to the point where I actually feel like I can stay clean. That's the key part.

Yeh, but what if after you go there ya drink a few beers and forget all about what you have promised yourself and your friends here. It might help to talk about your addiction. Were you buying yer dope by weight or with mix? Were you shooting, snorting, or smoking it. At the highest point how much were you using? In weight or dollars per day.

I am not discussing my old habit with a n00bster who suggests using suboxone.
I am at around 17 days, no need for that shit now. it's just about making the RIGHT choices and knowing not to be around the stuff. I am now at the point where I know I will still get cravings and some rough nights here and there but i made it through the sickness, now it's about knowing what i want.
I am about 75% sure I am going to do wwoof in the Spring and not continue with college. Maybe go back to college after a few years of working.

Ya , college isnt a guarantee unless its in a technical field. At this point there are very few places that arent drug testing, they are testing for spice though at some labs. If you can find a job thats worth working you are damn lucky. These are the hardest times financially. What kind of work? Something better than minimum wage.

Lucky, on the job training is a valuable asset. With housing is a definate bonus. There must be age restrictions. I talked to a guy years ago that was involved in a similar thing called job corp. After he went through he was immediately hired at a substantial wage.

Maybe not quite. I am not sure the exact last day I used H. I was heavily benzo'd when I quit and lost track of about a week of my life just laying in bed and being sick. But it's somewhere between 13-17 days. Since I am not using again it doesnt seem as important as it used to be about keeping track of the days. I just know that I am done with it and have moved on.

I know meetings are gay and u might not feel like exercising but you need to do somthing to work on your addiction. Belive it or not withdraw was the easy part for me staying clean is the hard part i would always get through the sickness say im done with that shit yadada. Then when I would start to feel better have some money in my pocket thats when i would find myself relapsing .....Idk your situation but man like I said before good luck

No you definitely hit it right on the head. it's a having money thing big time. I am sure that once I make a nice paycheck here in a couple weeks that I will have the temptation to use again. Staying clean will be the hardest part for sure
I have gone to meetings in the past. doesnt really help me... not my thing

Best of luck man, I have found that the only way to quit is to remove sources. I know that seems common sense but that was 99% of what got to me get clean. I deleted all the numbers in my phone and purposely pissed off some people so that I knew I couldnt get dope even if I wanted it
How long have you been using? Just getting through the first 7 days is the biggest challenge (at least it was for me). After the sickness clears it's really just about staying committed to yourself and finding other things to occupy your time. Like an mmorpg in my case

It's absolutely amazing how my attitude has changed. My self esteem has done a complete 180. I actually have desire to move up in life. Shit is absolutely bizarre. It feels like I spent my last 2- 2 1/2 years as a zombie in constant regression.
