I dunno. Typically I'll chase down some liquor with my beer and then continue drinking my beer until I'm comfortable. I don't need much

mixing doesn't really matter for me, but the chances of getting sick increases if i don't have some food or at least a good bit of water when i'm done.

as long as I dont start drinking liquor in the same quantities as beer im fine
I dont really like liquor though, I would much rather get shitty (if thats the objective) off a 6er of high percentage beers

I think the whole reason for this advice is that once you drunk its easy to drink too much liquor, Not nearly as easy to drink too much beer without noticing

IDK. I drink and smoke and do shots all night without any planned out pattern. I smoke when I start to get a headache or stop being high. I drink beers like water. I do shots by the time I'm too drunk and stoned to remember I shouldn't do shots.
The only people I hear sticking to that rule are people who probably shouldn't be drinking with me anyway. Because in a few hours I'm gonna be punching something down and stealing street signs, and they're gonna be scared.

This one has a little more truth too it IMO but its all about knowing your limit
I always drink beer first to catch that nice buzz then drink liquor to get fucking drunk.
Usually when I'm drinking I'll smoke weed eventually and then I have no interest in drinking for the rest of the night so I never drink enough to puke.

Weed and booze have always gone together in my world. I dont think I've ever been just drunk.
But for a drunk non-pothead it gives them the spins quick and hard ..............ten minutes later they're puking and begging for the spins to stop while we are finishing the blunt.

I saw someone talk a while back at a drug policy conference and they addressed this question from the audience. I remember her saying it was a bunch of bullshit.

Liquor and beer, you're usually in the clear, from remembering a chunk of details when you wake up. I don't usually get sick, but lots of liquor and beer, then weed, is usually the trainwreck. Made that mistake a couple days ago, drinking and drinking for hours, and when it came to hits from the gravity bong, I was fucking done, I was offered a second and I went for it because of my lack of better judgement. I was fine the whole night but after those 2 hits, I was stumbling home with a friend helping me walk 
It didn't help that I hadn't been high in almost a month before that..

i usually start with a few beers for a warm up of the ensuing flood of shots and proceed to drink beer through, doesn't bother me until the next morning

These are my drinking donts:
dont do shots of weird shit people make up
dont drink sweet drinks
dont drink warm beers
dont drink boilermakers
dont drink Jager
dont drink bloody marys
dont drink schnapps
dont chug liquor
dont do beer bongs
dont do jello shots
dont drink multiple whiskey sours
dont drink "hunch punch"
dont drink 151 or grain alcohol
dont drive after 4 beers or 2 drinks
