Hot Spot Diffusers
    #569517 - 07/04/11 06:04 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Has anyone tried these? with summer starting to heat up I'm running into issues with the heat in my space and right now an exhaust system is out of my budget. I only need about a 5-10 F drop to bring it back down to the safe zone so I'm hoping this will help.

I just ordered one and am hoping it will help.

any input?

Ove actually been pretty interested in those. I just haven't had the extra cash to try it out. But then, I also have a vented hood, and I've only ever seen them on lights with the bat-wing style reflectors... does it matter which kind of hood they go on?

lol i don't know if they even work to be honest. Never used one before but right now i made the mistake of starting the room in my bedroom closet and with summer my options are A. Leave my closet door open 24/h or B. buy a diffuser and pray it works so i can close the door at night. lol.

right now the room floats up to 90-95 degrees with the door shut so im hoping the diffuser will bring it down to 85.

i know it can go that low with the door shut because when i raise the light by another ft it drops down to 83-85 with the door shut.

and im also using a batwing reflector. the diffuser was a cheaper option then getting an air cooled reflector, fan, exhaust.

i guess i will let you guys know if it works when it gets here

There is no point in using these if your not working with very high wattage. It helps for light bleaching on your plant, that only happens at very high intensities. I use them on my 1500's but I wouldnt even use them on 1000's.
