Can I move seeds directly outside after germinating?
    #569426 - 07/04/11 10:14 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Is it ok to move seeds directly outside in topsoil under the direct sun after germinating?

I don't have a setup to really do anything indoors and wasn't sure if you had to veg at all inside or if going right outside was ok?

Nice sounds great.  I put them root down in some high quality top soil for now directly in the sunlight & I watered the soil a good amount.

Hopefully things go well!

just use ph balanced rainwater or distilled water, most sources of tapwater are totally whack. proper ph is paramount, if it's not right the plants will definitely show it. good-luck man:thumbup:

The light may be too intense initially for a seedling started indoors. You should harden them off before transplanting. It's best to put plants outside when they are closer to 12" tall, and fairly developed. Also, they will need to be watered regularly, especially at first. You will need to use something to amend the soil, such as perlite, vermiculite, manure, etc. Mulch is your friend. Hard, compact, clayish soil is harder for the roots to penetrate. Make sure to watch out for predators. Slugs, insects, herbivores all love mj. You may need to treat your plants with organic pesticides, up until budding. And a sun blanket, wax spray, or calcium supplement may prevent them from drying up. Growing outdoors can be more of a task than indoors. Read up before you get started, or you just might fail.

:goodluck:

if you take the sprouts straight from wet paper towel to soil outdoors you'll not have a problem. on the other hand if you started plants indoors and move outside, you may have to harden off your seedlings.
