A quesion about sheep doodoo
    #567530 - 06/26/11 01:07 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Hello guy, im doing an outdoor grow in hopefully a hidden area surrounded by pricklies next to a natural spring, and sheep fields on a ridge. Im going to mow it down in a way its not noticable, I get access will a full mody suit and labouring gloves, im sticking a fence around for the sheep and also i need an easy way to condition the soil.

Im going to be taking used coffee grounds to mix in and also there are a hell off alot of sheep patties over 3/4 square miles. Now they are dried out and dont look like manure and also I dont know how long they have been there for.

Aslong as I check the PH is it ok to mix in with the current soil and coffee grounds (PH adjusted). Like I said I dont know how long they have been there so I dont know if there going to be bad for the plants?

You can use the sheep manure as long as its older stuff like what you seem to be talking about. Don't overdo it though (10% or less by volume of soil). It seems a bit redundant though to add those: if its a sheep pasture, guaranteed sheep have shit there over the years, its probably got more than enough with out you picking it up from the surrounding field and adding it.

Well no its not is a position that sheep can get to, hence me using it. Amongst high pricklies and weeds of all sorts. Tough for even a human getting into it, I use a boiler suit, leather labourer gloves and tough boots. So I dowt theres much nute wise in there cause I imagin' all those weeds using all the nutes.

Okay, got it. So the short answer is yes, any composted herbivore manure is a good amendment to the soil as long as you don't overdo it.
