Do any of you guys save a record of all your past grows? I'm sure those of you with huge commercial sized gardens don't bother saving individual info about each plant, but I like to look back and see how I've learned over time.
I name all my plants girl names once they're into flowering and I'm sure they will survive. I put them in a folder (example: Sammy) and then, in there, I keep some things...just wanted to share my method.
1 picture from right when she went from veg to flower A picture every 3 weeks or so of the whole plant in flower A picture every 3 weeks of a closeup of some trichs/buds/cola A picture from the breeder
And, a text document saying the breeders name, and the strain name. Inside the text document, I keep this template for each girl:
Quote:
Type: (indica/sativa info, %'s if available) Flowering time: (obvious) Awards: (Cannabis Cup, etc) Note: (Growing specifics by me OR the breeder..."do not top", "easy cloner"...etc)
Breeder comments: (brief description from breeders site, along with my own experience)
Smoke report: (comments on the bud, cured and uncured, flavor, etc)
Weeks flowered: (actual weeks the plant took) Aprox yeild: (obvious) Trim: (what I did with the trim)
Purchase again?: (a "bottom line" type place for me to put overall comments)
Might seem a bit silly, but for something that can come and go so quickly, isn't it nice to remember?
Obviously do your best to encrypt the folder...anyone with some info on that can feel free to speak up...I'd like to save these to a USB drive that has been encrypted.)
-------------------- Of course it's happening inside your head. Why should that mean it isn't real?
Keeping records on non medical grows could get you time for manufacturing. If you keep records and were ever to get raided they would use these records against you. Until prohibition ends or you become legal card holder, it would be smart to not have a paper trail.
I LOVE photodocumentation and highly recommend it. It gets sticky though with the legality of what we are talking about. However, I take risks, sometimes. I've done two successful grows and I took thousands and thousands of pictures of the plants and materials as I progressed. I posted hundreds of those pictures here on the forum. I can't tell you how many things I noticed from looking at the pictures, that I didn't notice while working and actually looking at the plants and taking the pictures. Plus it helps you to stay proactive and success-minded about your grow. To take pictures one week and then take more of the same plants the next week, and compare the pictures to notice the new growth. I'm sure you can see the advantage there. The major problem i see with all this is what SM pointed out. It can be a risk.
Any serious grower documents his shit well. Breeders document on a whole other level. It's a necessity as far as I'm concerned. so keep it up!
