the opportunity to purchase "California-lab-grown, hydroponic mushrooms" for $55...for 3.5 grams.
I've heard this "hydro mushrooms" fable before, but never so absurdly. It's a cruel trick to play on n00bs 
Have any of you heard this before?

Sounds like bullshit to me. Not really an expert on mushies. Helped a dude grow them before, a shitload of them actually. I don't know about the whole hydro thing though, we just used jars n like rubbermaid containers. i forget like the name of the technique or whatever. nigs was trippin faces though, i know that. but yeah, hydro mushies, never heard of it. fuuuuuck that. i'd tell him to let you sample some. sounds like some shit he's just telling you to sell them. could be portabellas for all you know.

Mycelium can grow in a liquid culture, but it wouldn't fruit. And contamination is more probable. Seems like company is marketing to the 14 year olds, trailer trash, and the fractalifes.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but it's definitely bullshit. There are no "hydro mushies," in the sense that average drug consumers think of it, which is that they're grown in a chemical environment that makes them more potent. That's what these dealers are trying to imply, especially by charging nearly 3x as much as the average price in my area.
If they mean literally hydroponic (which usually refers to plants), as in growing in a soilless medium, then I guess most people grow that way. Nothing special.

and i've never paid that much for an 8th of shrooms. fuck that. i used to get them free anyway, but they are 25 an 8th where i'm from, and they do you get you fucked up, worry not.
