I was riding my bike to a nearby music venue to see The National, and I was just cruising along when I came to a spot where the streetlight was out.
No biggie though, I'm a large guy and I'm moving about 20 miles an hour, so I'm pretty safe, right? HELL NO! In the area where it was pitch black, one road panel ended, and another began; the panel I was on was 2 inches shorter than the one it connected to.
My bike pretty much stopped cold and I went over the handlebars. Shirt got shredded, jeans are beat, and I did 14 feet worth of concrete slip and slide on my right forearm. The road rash is fucking brutal, so I'm crackin' a bottle of wine, heating up the vape, and I'm gonna try to ease my pain.
Still saw the show btw, and it was so fucking WORTH IT.

That sucks man. Lots of bike accidents been happening at the Growery lately. That's 3 in 2 weeks 
Glad to hear you arent too badly hurt
I get paranoid about that same shit. I really need to invest in some type of bike light or start wearing my backpacking headlamp
