how thick is your canopy

what do you guys think is the optimum canopy thickness. worth leaving popcorns as they do get soem light and produce energy aswell. Do you ever go off and trim up the bottom if its stretching even though there is mad nodes and healthy leaves?  just interested in dif points of view as it is more of an art with seeds in particular.

I trim a lot from underneath the canopy.  The little popcorn buds aren't worth it in my opinion.  I feel that they take away from production of the main buds.  But of course some extent of popcorn buds is inevitable.

Exactly.  I usually leave some of the lower stuff til around 4-5 weeks in, then trim it all up so I have something to smoke in an emergency, but I agree, putting all the growth to the tops is priority, as they will bring the most weight and highest quality.

I primarily grow outdoors so I have a light mover and my plants aren't crowded together. I still find it beneficial to cut the lowest few branches. Depending on how tall the plant is, how many branches there are, etc. Typically I cut the lowest 3-5 branches or I'll take the lowest 2.5' worth of branches off of a 6+ ft plant.
