Hmmm 2 months of 12/12 and just seedlings...gonna say your house mate is just a bad grower. Sorry man . I've got some 2 week (coming up on three week) "seedlings and they're already bushy as hell and going for gangbusters.
Also you CAN 12/12 from seed. Not just cuttings. You can turn females hermaphrodite with stress but I'm pretty sure that female/male ratio is 50/50 always.
But this brings up the point of: why do they then say that high temps and stresses produces more males? Are they just females with stunted bud sites or are they well and truly females-->males that changed because of outside stimulus?
