So here's Ice #3 just trasplanted into a cup.


And here's White Widow x Big Bud #3 just trasplanted as well. Three cotyledons showing with only two real leaves showing, maybe the third will grow in by tomorrow.

When I can find it, cheap garden wire, just plastic coated steel wire. When I don't have that, I have some insulated, solid core, copper wire that works great too.
I make the wire into a little hook on both ends, pop a hole in the cup, hook in the one end, bend the plant over and hook it(about 2-2.5 inches above rim of the cup). Once I see secondary shoots growing out and they get long enough I put a little hook around them too.

Best thing to do is play around a little bit and see what works best for you. Everyone has a slightly different angle on tying their plants down, and all kinds of different methods work well.

how does this benefit? does it keep it from growing upward? so you have more room?

Sure, it keeps the plant short, makes it bush out and puts most of the lower budsites (that normally wouldn't get much light) at a more even level with the top of the plant so you get multiple main cola's. Also increases branching, thus creating more budsite's.

Works great if you are confined on space, but you will probably notice people without space constraints using this method too. I think LST is the shit, and everyday I watch my babies grow while being trained I can see how much potential they are gaining as opposed to not being trained.

So I stuck my seedlings on top of a bucket to put them up about 14 inches closer to the light, which would still be more than 12 inches away.. They hate me for it. All sad and droopy, hopefully they come back around and perk up later. Just another fine example showing you that light stress is real. I usually only go a couple inches at a time, and I went and got anxious. Now I feel a little dumb..

Ideally you want 375 lumens hitting seedlings and early clones as anything less can promote stretchiness and anything more will not be absorbed. If I vegged with my 600 I would keep it 48+" away until they are well established fwiw. I'm sure they will bounce back strong in a couple days you have a nice setup and know what you're doing.

Thanks, man. I'm sure you're right, I gave them a little feeding to cool em off and set them back down to around 30" away where they have been going strong.

48 inches, huh? I may just pull it back some, when I had it about 38" away I felt like they weren't getting enough light. I think you may be onto something though,  new seedlings that I've been keeping partially shaded are still a little stressed it seems.. And the light was down a few inches since last time.

I'm gonna pull it up a little more and see how they respond.

I can't wait to get my future room cleared out, it was a storage room and its still packed, I need it sooo bad so I can actually divide it and have a seperate seedling/veg area. It's killin' me to be stuck in this closet. New room is about 12 x 12. :smile:

I think the growth is lackluster because they look hungry to me :shrug: how strong are you feeding them?

Feeding lightly, they were getting 200ppm until last night I stepped it up to 325..

Oh that's definitely the problem. Those bigger ones are definitely old enough to be getting 500ppm at least. are the big ones still in solo cups also? If so then the lack of root space will be slowing them down significantly.

Yeah, the bigger ones are in like 14oz cups, same as the seedlings. I checked root growth on the big mandala plant and they are thick and very healthy but just barely touching the bottom of the cup. I'm still gonna transplant soon, I just realized I have to get quite a bit of water ready(evaporate the chlorine). So as as soon as its ready I will transplant to buckets.

You're completely right on the feeding, I thought they were just getting cramped because of those lower leaves yellowing and drooping, but paired with the yellowish apical tip(which I wasn't really noticing), they must be hungry.

How long of a period do you recommend I increase the doasge over?
