ive got some dried leaves sitting around and i wanted to try and get some kief out of them. is it possible to use one of the weed grinders with a kief screen on it to get the kief out? or would it be better to use a silk screen?
it would be better to put the leaves in a paper or plastic solo cup with a marble or a bead or even a clean (scrubbed with alcohol) coin. Then stretch pantyhose tightly over the mouth of the cup in a single layer and secure it with a fat rubber-band. Next you turn the assembly upside down and shake it up over a glass table or a clean, dust-free countertop-- It is best to grip the pantyhose with your hand where the rubber-band is just so it doesn't slip off during the shake up. The little kief particles will sift through the pantyhose leaving the leaves behind. The marble or coin is in the cup with the leaves to help break off the kief and agitate the leaves. It is possible to do all this with nothing bud herb in the cup but we've found adding the agitator speeds it up a bit, nevertheless you will need to be patient. After your kief has sifted through the 'hosiery onto your glass table you can scrape it all into a little pile with a notecard or a business card and dab it carefully into your joint or bowl or if you have enough kief you can roll a nice sticky bud in it and pack your double-perk for a major head-rush
