Hydro Growers:
1. Are you growing from seed or clones? Bag Seed
2. How old are your plants? 5 weeks into flowering about 4 months old (did alot of things wrong in the beginning and slowed their growth to a crawl.)
3. How tall are your plants? Tallest 4 ft Shortest 1ft
4. What type of hydro system are you using? Ebb and flow
5. What brand/type of nutrients are you using? Pureblend pro bloom
6. What is the Ph of your nutrient solution? Try to keep it around 6
7. What is the PPM/EC of your tap water? No meter
8. What is the PPM/EC of your nutrient solution? see above
9. What is the temperature of your nutrient solution?High 70's
10. Does your PPM/EC show a rise or fall when you do your daily PPM check? no Meter
11. Does your pH show a rise or fall when you do your daily check? Usually fall
12. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? No was thinking about using more pureblend bloom using the foliar feeding dir on the back
13. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights") 8 cfl 6 above 2 side 800 watt equiv one or two of them might be 125w so that or a little more
14. How close are your lights to the plants? 2 in from tallest several feet from the shortest. Which is why I'm using two 100w equiv side lights also set 2-4 in from plants
15. What size is your grow space in square feet? 42 7x6
16. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? fluctuates mid 70s to low 80s
17. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? none
18. How much experience do you have growing? none

So i did some reading (not enough) and decided like many noobs before me to try molasses to improve the size of my plants. (yeah i know I'm a fucking moron) So long story short i had slime everywhere!

I did what i could to clean everything off ended up losing a good portion (but not nearly all more roots left than when i transferred them from soil to hydro) of the roots.
Last night after cleaning everything i ran it with plain water till i got it coming out pretty clear.

Today i did a LOT more reading and decided to try some h2o2 to help clean out the system. i did 1 oz per gal as i didn't want to shock them any more with a stronger dose.

They don't seem to be getting any worse and the roots or whats left of them look white and firm.

So am i screwed? any suggestions?

Thanks growery!

You might not be screwed though your plants will be severely stressed. Keep running the system with some h202 in it to try to kill off the root rot. Check your water temps and try to keep them low, around 65-70, to discourage the rot from returning. While you're at it, try to drop your room temps as well, 75 is as high as you should ever go ideally. Another piece of advice for any hydro grower is to pick up a ppm meter. I use a cheap HM digital meter I got off ebay that I throw out every couple years. (They only cost 20-30$.)

Hey thanks! Ive been running them with pure water and some h2o2 changed pretty much daily Should i start adding nutes now or give it few more rinses?

Any tips on lowering the temp im in a closet and its a good size but all those cfls puts out some heat. and im pretty sure the water is pretty warm as well.

I'll take a look at that meter thanks for all the help!

You should never ever run a hydro system without nutes unless you are flushing at the end of harvest. Add veg strength nutes according to the bottle. (Use good quality hydroponic nutrients, miracle grow or peters will NOT work.)

As for your temps, you never mentioned weather or not you had any form of exhaust fan, that would certainly help if you don't have one already.

An easy way to take care of your rez temps is with frozen two liter bottles of ice. Just make 2-4 of them and place one into your rez, when it's fully melted, replace it with the one in the freezer and repeat.
